This highly respected program allows participants to gain real-world experience within the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) — the nation’s top intelligence and law enforcement agency.

Interns will spend 10 weeks (from June to August 2026) working at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C., or at one of 55 field offices across the country. Compensation is based on academic status and follows the federal pay scale.

Compensation Details

Final pay will be adjusted to reflect the internship’s 10-week period.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen

  • Be enrolled full-time at a U.S.-accredited college or university

  • Have at least one semester remaining after the internship (unless enrolled in a continuing education program)

  • Hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

    • At the time of applying

    • During the full selection process

    • Throughout the internship period

  • Successfully complete all phases of the FBI’s background investigation

  • Be eligible for a Top Secret security clearance
